Inspector (Electrical)

About the Role

Egis is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of electrical installations on site. The Electrical Inspector will be responsible for monitoring electrical works to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and project quality requirements. The role supports the project team in maintaining construction quality, identifying deficiencies, and ensuring timely resolution of electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems, installations, and equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and relevant building codes.
• Perform daily inspections of electrical systems, including MV/LV power distribution, MV substations and associated infrastructure, wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems.
• Monitor the installation of street lighting, apron floodlighting, GPUs, and AGL infrastructure.
• Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes.
• Review work pack documentation and validate test data to ensure it meets specified requirements and/or tolerances.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications.
• Review and verify method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
• Monitor and verify installation methods, workmanship, and compliance with Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures.
• Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking.
• Participate in site coordination and progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues on-site.
• Collaborate with other inspectors to resolve electrical system integration issues.
• Identify and document electrical deficiencies, code violations, and potential safety hazards.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve electrical issues and ensure timely project completion.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations to improve electrical safety and efficiency on project sites.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss electrical requirements and potential challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in electrical inspection or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems and installations.
• Proficiency in reviewing technical documentation such as shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and ITPs.
• Experience in overseeing testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of relevant building codes, standards, and project quality requirements.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves regular site presence and participation in coordination meetings with various project stakeholders.
