The Role of Materials Engineer

Applus+ Asia Middle East and Africa is seeking a Materials Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for ensuring that all materials used on site meet project specifications. The Materials Engineer will review material submittals, coordinate necessary testing, and monitor compliance with quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve all material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and established standards.
• Monitor batching, production, and placement processes to ensure consistency with approved mix designs.
• Oversee material testing programs, including both field and laboratory testing procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors and laboratories to effectively resolve any material-related issues that arise.
• Evaluate and approve concrete and asphalt mix designs, ensuring their suitability for project requirements and environmental conditions.
• Ensure comprehensive QA/QC compliance for all materials utilized across the project.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Civil or Geotechnical/Geological Engineering.
• Between 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure projects.
• Specific experience with asphalt and concrete mix design.
• Proven experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
