We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Android) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a contract position.

The Senior Android Engineer Position

This role involves contributing significantly to the development of our Android platform. The Senior Android Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions, collaborating with product teams, and ensuring the technical feasibility and accurate implementation of requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong individual contribution while also functioning as a team player.

Core Responsibilities

• Stay informed on the latest software development methodologies to deliver best-in-class solutions.
• Analyze product requirements to understand engineering needs, evaluate technical feasibility, estimate efforts, and provide solutions in collaboration with the Product Team.
• Assist in building development components and managing the programming of solution components to accurately transform requirements into working software.
• Document all coding steps to ensure comprehensibility and facilitate future modifications and maintenance.
• Write unit, integration, and UI / Snapshot tests.
• Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other means.
• Collaborate with colleagues on code reviews and deliver code review reports.
• Perform functional and module testing to ensure the functionality of delivered solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on product development, recommending improvements as necessary.
• Assist in user trials and acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms. Kotlin is preferred, with Java background accepted.
• Deep expertise in native Android development with a technology-agnostic mindset.
• Hands-on experience delivering high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures.
• In-depth understanding of the Android lifecycle (Activities, Fragments) and practical experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proven track record of driving significant impact on complex systems, demonstrating engineering excellence. Open-source contributions and technical publications are considered a strong advantage.
• Execution-driven mindset with strong project prioritization, multi-tasking abilities, and mastery of version control tools (Git).

Technical Expertise

Candidates should possess deep familiarity with Modern Android Development (MAD) practices and toolkits, including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and multi-module Dagger2 setups. A solid understanding of modular app architecture principles and CI/CD pipelines is essential, alongside the ability to design and implement maintainable, scalable new modules.

• Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and machine learning integration within mobile applications.
• Cross-platform versatility with hands-on experience in both Android and iOS ecosystems.

Desired Attributes
