About the Role

Al-Enjaz Company is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead and manage central and site workshops for its contracting operations in Riyadh. This full-time role involves comprehensive planning and supervision of preventive and emergency maintenance programs for heavy equipment, machinery, and trucks, ensuring high operational availability with minimal downtime and optimal financial efficiency, all while adhering to occupational safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations within central and field project workshops, distributing repair tasks among mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic technicians.
  • Develop and implement preventive and periodic maintenance schedules for all machinery.
  • Oversee emergency maintenance and field repairs at project sites to prevent construction work stoppages.
  • Monitor and inspect rented and owned equipment, ensuring compliance with work requirements and approved technical specifications.

Spare Parts and Inventory Management

  • Plan workshop needs for consumable and critical spare parts, monitoring inventory levels to minimize repair waiting times.
  • Review price offers and coordinate with the procurement department, spare parts suppliers, and agents to ensure optimal quality and pricing.
  • Analyze causes of wear and recurring equipment failures, implementing engineering solutions to mitigate them.

Cost Control and Budgeting

  • Prepare the annual operating budget for the workshop, spare parts, fuel, and lubricants, and monitor expenditure items.
  • Calculate and track the operating and maintenance cost per hour for individual equipment.
  • Evaluate the economic feasibility of repairing old equipment versus replacement or decommissioning (Repair vs. Replace Analysis).

Performance, Safety, and Compliance

  • Measure and monitor maintenance and workshop performance indicators (KPIs), including equipment availability rate, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Implement strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards within workshops and on sites, ensuring safe disposal of oils and industrial waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Prepare and update periodic technical reports for senior management on fleet availability, maintenance costs, and major breakdowns.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Logistics, or a technical diploma specializing in heavy equipment/mechanics with extensive field experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of practical experience in managing heavy equipment workshops and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role within large contracting and construction companies.
