About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on Exhibition Design Management and Construction Supervision for specialist museums, cultural institutions, and visitor experience projects.

Role Overview and Context

The Assistant Project Manager will coordinate the scope of work for exhibition design management and construction supervision within high-profile cultural developments in Riyadh. This role involves the coordination, implementation, and delivery of world-class museum exhibitions and cultural experiences, spanning from concept design through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and handover. The specialist acts as the primary interface between museum stakeholders, designers, architects, exhibit fabricators, contractors, multimedia integrators, conservators, and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery to the highest international standards while meeting project objectives, schedules, budgets, and conservation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibition Design Management: Manage design development from concept through detailed design and execution. Review and coordinate documentation, ensure alignment with curatorial narratives, visitor experience strategies, and operational requirements. Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and facilitate stakeholder reviews.
  • Construction Supervision & Site Management: Supervise exhibition fit-out and installation works on-site. Monitor contractor and fabricator performance, conduct regular inspections, and review method statements and material submittals. Ensure compliance with local regulations, international museum standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Exhibition Fabrication Oversight: Manage exhibit fabrication processes, including factory inspections and mock-up reviews. Verify fabrication quality and compliance with approved designs, monitor progress, and coordinate logistics and installation planning.
  • Museum Showcase & Artifact Display Coordination: Oversee the design and manufacture of museum showcases and display systems. Ensure compliance with artifact conservation requirements, including temperature, humidity, lighting, security, and environmental monitoring.
  • Multimedia & Interactive Experience Management: Coordinate the integration of multimedia and AV systems within exhibitions. Oversee the installation of interactive exhibits, projection systems, LED displays, immersive environments, and digital interpretation technologies.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Develop and implement exhibition quality control procedures. Conduct site inspections and quality audits, verifying compliance with design intent, technical specifications, and international museum and accessibility standards.
  • Project Planning & Schedule Management: Monitor project schedules and exhibition delivery timelines. Coordinate design, fabrication, procurement, and installation activities. Identify schedule risks and propose recovery plans, tracking progress against milestones.
  • Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and museum operating teams. Facilitate stakeholder meetings and present project updates to senior management.
  • Procurement & Contract Administration: Support the procurement of exhibition contractors and specialist vendors. Review technical bid submissions, evaluate contractor capabilities, and participate in tender clarification processes.
  • Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Manage exhibition testing and commissioning activities, verifying the functionality of exhibition systems. Coordinate operational readiness reviews, oversee training of museum operations staff, and support final handover preparations.
