Capital Manager

About the Role

SAB is seeking a Capital Manager to serve as the subject matter expert on returns for Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focuses on capital consumption, efficiency, and loan pricing. The Capital Manager will advise senior management on portfolio-level trends and collaborate with coverage teams to enhance client returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as CIB’s subject matter expert on returns, including RWA, RoRWA, RoTE, Density & Velocity calculations and trends.
• Raise awareness of capital consumption with CIB Relationship Managers and advise on capital-efficient lending structures.
• Originate, oversee, and support capital efficiency initiatives to release RWAs, improve RoRWA, lower RWA density, and raise Capital Velocity, including data management, distribution, and reallocation of capital.
• Own CIB’s Loan Pricing Policy, ensuring it is commercially set and allows RMs to negotiate within defined boundaries.
• Own the Omnia Returns Calculator, liaising with Finance to ensure alignment with SAB’s RWA/capital reporting methodology.
• Act as the Final Approver (on CCIBO behalf) for loan pricing approvals in the Omnia Returns Calculator, advising senior management and CCIBO on transaction pricing comparable prior to loan origination.
• Advise CCIBO, General Managers, and Directors on portfolio-level yields, margin compression/expansion trends, and spread leakage by sector, currency, and tenor.
• Ensure robust operational controls for loan margins, including accurate data input.
• Identify low-returning CIB clients and collaborate with Coverage teams on plans to enhance returns from these clients.
• Be responsible for CIB returns as a direct Key Performance Indicator (KPI).

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related major.
• 5-10 years of experience in capital management, loan pricing, and limits.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Weighted Assets (RWA), Basel, RAROC, and capital optimization.
