About the Role

IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture is seeking a highly skilled Chief Surveyor to join its Project and Construction Management team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is part of the Infrastructure Division, focusing on a major Roads Program within the Kingdom. The role requires extensive surveying expertise in large-scale roads and civil works projects, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Role Purpose

As Chief Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading all surveying activities for the project. This involves ensuring that construction works are executed in strict accordance with approved designs, contract requirements, and project specifications. The primary objective is to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and quality throughout all surveying operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all surveying activities for major road and bridge infrastructure works, including topographic, setting-out, levelling, boundary verification, and as-built surveys.
  • Review and approve survey methodologies, procedures, reports, drawings, digital terrain models (DTMs), and related documentation.
  • Verify contractors’ survey control networks, benchmarks, setting-out works, and as-built records to ensure compliance with project requirements, approved drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Oversee surveys for bridges, flyovers, underpasses, retaining walls, road corridors, utilities, and other associated infrastructure.
  • Monitor alignment, elevation, coordinates, survey tolerances, utility locations, deformation, and quantity calculations.
  • Ensure all survey data is accurate, validated, traceable, and suitable for progress reporting, audits, handover, and final documentation.
  • Manage the survey team and provide technical guidance and mentoring to survey engineers and surveyors.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to ensure accuracy and reliable performance throughout the project.
  • Participate in technical meetings, project audits, and inspections, providing professional advice on surveying matters.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve survey discrepancies and support the smooth delivery of supervision services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying, with a strong focus on large-scale roads and civil works projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing surveying teams and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and quality in all surveying operations.

Requirements

  • Transferable Iqama (for non-Saudi candidates).
  • Currently based in Riyadh.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within the Infrastructure Division, working on a major Roads Program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves collaboration with various project disciplines and requires active participation in technical meetings and site inspections.
