About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Cluster Director of Revenue & Strategy to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and functions as the strategic business leader for revenue strategy across participating cluster properties. The primary objective is to maximize revenue and profit associated with rooms and function space.

Strategic Revenue Leadership

The Cluster Director of Revenue & Strategy is accountable for preparing forecasts, budgets, and projections, alongside managing pricing, positioning, and inventory. This role oversees all processes related to demand, revenue, forecasting, inventory management, and opportunity analysis. It involves close collaboration with the sales strategy team to develop and implement effective sales strategies for the hotel(s) and identify future revenue opportunities, communicating these strategies to the sales organization.

Key Responsibilities: Analysis and Strategy Execution

  • Compile, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales, identifying underlying principles and facts.
  • Utilize computer systems for programming, data entry, and information processing.
  • Provide revenue strategy and analysis expertise to general managers, property leadership, and market sales leaders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of property participation in electronic sales channels and analyze competitive sets, pricing, seasonality, mix, and displacement.
  • Prepare forecasts for revenue, profit, demand, and occupancy for rooms and function space (3-month, 6-month, long-range, and budget).
  • Assist hotels with pricing and provide input on business evaluation recommendations.
  • Analyze period-end data to identify trends, future need periods, and obstacles, generating updates on transient segments.
  • Manage all revenue, profit, and demand data, providing recommendations to improve analysis processes.
  • Establish long-range objectives and specify strategies and actions to achieve them, working with Sales and Marketing to increase profitability.
  • Develop and execute hotel strategic plans, overseeing the annual pricing process for transient, group, catering rooms, function space, and audio-visual.
  • Ensure hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives, communicating and modifying sales strategies and rate restrictions as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Prepare sales strategy meeting agendas, lead property/cluster meetings, and refine strategies to increase market share.
  • Develop 6-month, 12-month, and 2-year strategic action plans for cluster transient revenue management and maximize cluster rooms revenue.
  • Ensure property diagnostic processes (PDP) are used and initiate, implement, and evaluate revenue tests.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage sound financial/business decision-making, demonstrating honesty and integrity.
  • Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests).
  • Identify and communicate revenue and profit opportunities to property leadership teams and the sales organization.
  • Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships, providing targeted and timely communication of results, achievements, and challenges.
  • Interview and hire employees with appropriate skills, developing and maintaining departmental orientation programs.
  • Communicate performance expectations, monitor progress, and conduct employee performance appraisals.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees, soliciting feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Manage employee progressive discipline procedures and ensure ongoing communication to create awareness of business objectives and recognize performance.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of experience in revenue strategy, revenue management, or a related field within the hospitality industry. A proven track record in strategic business leadership, financial analysis, and team management is essential.
