About the Compliance & Government Relations Manager Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia (ex-Souq) is seeking a Compliance & Government Relations Manager to ensure organizational adherence to regulatory requirements. This full-time position involves managing government relations and operational compliance across assigned sites, bridging enforcement with proactive engagement. The role is based in Jeddah and Riyadh, requiring 2-5 years of experience.

Core Compliance Responsibilities

The Compliance & Government Relations Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust site compliance framework. This includes managing all necessary licensing, permits, and regulatory documentation. Regular compliance audits and gap assessments will be conducted across all operational sites to ensure adherence to standards. A key aspect of this role involves the timely renewal and diligent tracking of all regulatory permits and licenses. Furthermore, the manager will develop and maintain comprehensive compliance registers, trackers, and reporting dashboards to provide clear visibility into compliance status.

Government Relations and Engagement

This position requires building and nurturing strong relationships with key government bodies, regulatory authorities, and enforcement agencies. The manager will actively monitor legislative and regulatory changes that could impact business operations, providing proactive advice to leadership. Support will be provided to Branch Managers in navigating regulatory interfaces at the site level. Developing and implementing government engagement strategies that align with overarching business objectives will be a critical function.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting

Effective collaboration with Legal, Operations, and Engineering teams is essential to ensure integrated compliance and government relations coverage. The manager will contribute compliance and GR insights into new site launches, expansions, and significant operational changes. Maintaining high documentation standards for all regulatory correspondence and government interactions is also a key responsibility. Regular reporting on compliance and government relations status to senior leadership will be conducted on a consistent cadence.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in compliance and government relations. A proven ability to manage regulatory frameworks, conduct audits, and engage with government entities is required. Strong organizational skills and the capacity to track multiple regulatory requirements are essential.
