Role Overview: Consultant, Anesthesiology General Anesthesia

KFSH is seeking a Consultant, Anesthesiology General Anesthesia to join its medical team. This full-time position is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of various medical diseases and conditions, as well as providing comprehensive medical care within the Anesthesiology field. The role requires strict adherence to current medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in all aspects of Anesthesiology, in accordance with approved clinical privileges.
• Offer consultations for inpatients and emergency room cases upon request, ensuring timely responses as outlined in hospital policy.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of all medical records.
• Provide on-call service, maintaining availability and response times within the prescribed timeframe as per hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for transfer or discharge.
• Ensure that transfer or discharge orders are documented 24 hours prior to the scheduled event.
• Perform any other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty, as assigned.

Academic and Research Contributions

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to junior staff members as assigned.
• Participate actively in the department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Partake in national and international medical conferences to enhance professional knowledge.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through continuous education requirements.
• Participate in clinical, basic, and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy.
• Contribute to advancing medical knowledge, improving the quality of postgraduate education, and enhancing the Hospital's national and international recognition.

Administrative Duties and Compliance

• Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman.
• Participate in all mandatory departmental activities and serve on Departmental and Hospital committees and other administrative functions, as required.
• Assist the department in developing and implementing techniques and practices that maximize resource utilization.
• Abide by the current Hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations, and policies, and stay updated on any changes.
• Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self- and others’ education, training, and development as applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of training in a specialty or subspecialty.
• Postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years in the subspecialty.
