Role Overview: Director of Engineering

The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah is seeking a Director of Engineering to manage the hotel's physical assets and ensure a functional environment for guest experiences. This full-time role involves leading all engineering, maintenance, facilities management, and asset protection functions across the property. The Director of Engineering will combine strategic leadership with technical expertise to maintain the physical plant to high standards of safety, reliability, sustainability, and luxury. This includes overseeing preventative maintenance, energy conservation, capital projects, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement an engineering strategy aligned with hotel objectives, brand standards, and owner priorities.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditure projects, and long-term asset protection plans.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical infrastructure.
• Drive sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life safety requirements.
• Build, mentor, and develop the engineering team through coaching, development, recognition, and succession planning.
• Establish relationships with ownership representatives, contractors, consultants, and regional engineering leaders.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in engineering leadership, preferably within luxury hospitality.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in managing engineering and maintenance operations.
• Understanding of engineering's role in luxury hospitality.
• Ability to manage budgets, capital projects, and asset protection plans.
• Proficiency in preventative maintenance programs and building systems.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy conservation practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life safety requirements.
