About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Director of Learning & Development to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is responsible for driving company values and philosophy by ensuring all training and development activities are strategically linked to the organization’s mission and vision. The Director will collaborate with the Executive Committee and property leadership to identify and address employee and organizational development needs, ensuring effective training programs are in place to achieve desired business results.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Learning & Development will oversee the full training lifecycle, from needs assessment to program evaluation. This includes designing and developing comprehensive training programs focused on product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills. A core responsibility involves facilitating the delivery of both custom and corporate training initiatives and measuring their effectiveness to ensure a return on investment.

Managing Training Programs

• Coordinate property compliance training programs, including CPR, PAR, Business We Do, Harassment, Fire Safety, Food Handling, and OSHA.
• Ensure participants receive appropriate property and company orientation and understand program materials.
• Administer and deliver core training initiatives such as Orientation, Leadership Skills, Trainer Certification, Diversity Training, and Management Development Programs, in compliance with corporate standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain property and management orientation programs to introduce new employees and managers to the company culture, expected leadership behaviors, and management skills (*, financial management, human resources skills).
• Select, train, and develop an internal training cadre to support the delivery of technical skills training programs.

Employee Development and Coaching

• Provide additional training to employees to enhance specific skills, such as HR competencies.
• Assist employees in identifying behaviors that contribute to service excellence.
• Oversee the Management Development Program and coach managers to improve their performance and that of their teams.
• Design, develop, and deliver supervisory development programs to build effective supervisory skills.
• Drive brand values and philosophy across all training and development activities.

Evaluating Program Effectiveness

• Align current training and development programs to effectively impact key business indicators.
• Measure the transfer of learning from training courses to operational practice.
• Track key business indicators, including employee and guest satisfaction, retention, and financial results, to determine the effectiveness of current training and development programs.
• Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and foster a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
