About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician specializing in Molecular Diagnostics. This full-time role involves leading and coordinating laboratory activities, performing a variety of testing, and operating automated equipment within a specialized team. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform essential laboratory testing and related tasks, ensuring accurate results for patient diagnosis. This role involves both independent work and coordination with other laboratory staff, adhering to established procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve problems related to specimen processes and the activities of Laboratory Technicians and Assistants.
• Receive, sort, and accession lab specimens in ICIS, processing them using manual and automated methods.
• Contact phlebotomists, nurses, and doctors as needed to address specimen-related issues.
• View activity orders in ICIS and print collection and aliquot labels.
• Perform procedural steps for less complex laboratory testing to obtain results for patient disease diagnosis.
• Operate automated testing and diagnostic equipment according to accepted procedures.
• Prepare specimens for observation and analysis by other laboratory staff.
• Identify and label all specimens for retention and filing for future reference.
• Assist in training new laboratory technicians and trainees.
• Inventory and request biweekly supplies (warehouse and pre-analytical machines supplies) and assist in arranging the monthly staff schedule with senior staff and supervisors.
• Work in accordance with standards established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current registration from the country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
• Completion of approved accreditation according to the country of origin is required for non-Saudi applicants.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
