Laboratory Technician

About the Role

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to monitor operations within the chemistry section. This full-time role involves both technical and organizational responsibilities to ensure efficient laboratory functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory check tests within the assigned section.
• Assist in validating invoices and charge slips for patients.
• Receive and verify specimens.
• Coordinate with laboratory technicians for urgent/stat requests.
• Arrange home visits, coordinating with phlebotomists and the HMG transportation department.
• Refer patients to concerned physicians for results interpretation when required.
• Answer all telephone calls and patient queries professionally.
• Assist in preparing Internal Policies and Procedures (IPPs) and ensure their understanding and implementation.
• Prepare the working schedule for receptionists to ensure optimal presence based on workload.
• Support receptionist duties and assist in staff training to develop a professional and skilled team.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the designated area at all times.
• Participate in continuing medical education to enhance professional knowledge and competency.
• Engage in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Provide patient and family education as needed.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 0-1 year of experience in a relevant laboratory setting. The role requires a strong understanding of chemistry section operations and the ability to manage both technical and organizational aspects effectively.
