About the MSS Principle Lead Engineer Role

Cyberani by Aramco Digital is seeking an MSS Principle Lead Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing visionary guidance on security telemetry collection strategy, data engineering, and the evolution of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. The role functions as a senior subject-matter expert, shaping client security architectures, mentoring team members, and managing client escalations.

Strategic Leadership and Vision

The Principle Lead Engineer is responsible for defining the long-term vision for log-data acquisition, normalization, and analytics across all service lines. This includes publishing whitepapers, best-practice guides, and thought-leadership content for both internal teams and external audiences, contributing to industry best practices.

Enterprise Architecture and Governance

A key responsibility of this position is to architect enterprise-scale telemetry frameworks. These frameworks must effectively span diverse operational environments, including on-premise, cloud, and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures, ensuring comprehensive data collection and security governance.

Advisory and Client Engagement

• Serve as the senior technical advisor for strategic customers, presenting roadmap recommendations and conducting thorough risk assessments.
• Conduct executive-level workshops and security posture reviews to identify client risks and deliver actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, such as graph analytics and zero-trust telemetry, to enhance security capabilities.

Operational Excellence and Quality Assurance

• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ingestion latency, data fidelity, and detection efficacy within MDR services.
• Champion the implementation of automated quality gates and continuous improvement loops to optimize service delivery.
• Handle complex MDR integration tasks and provide training to team members on these procedures.
• Define operational standards, plans, and guidelines, ensuring strict team compliance with established procedures.
• Automate and optimize onboarding tasks to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this Principle Lead Engineer role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in security telemetry, data engineering, and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. The position requires a demonstrated ability to supervise projects, ensure optimization for efficient MDR service, and act as a senior subject-matter expert in complex cybersecurity environments.
