The Role: Operations Continuity & Emergency Planning and Assurance Senior Engineer

SAR is seeking an Operations Continuity & Emergency Planning and Assurance Senior Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on developing, implementing, and assuring strategies and plans to maintain operational continuity and effective emergency response within SAR's railway operations. The role involves proactive risk identification, impact analysis, and the design of robust mitigation and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal teams to identify potential risks across SAR infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
• Analyze the impact of various disruption scenarios on specific systems and infrastructure components.
• Develop and recommend feasible mitigation strategies to ensure operations continuity.
• Design comprehensive plans for emergency exercises, ensuring alignment with established standards and covering a range of potential scenarios.
• Coordinate with internal teams to implement exercise plans, fostering readiness and resilience.
• Monitor and evaluate the execution of emergency exercises, ensuring they meet established standards and objectives.
• Conduct assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance and preparedness.
• Organize and support Incident Response teams in testing documented plans.
• Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
• Support the Section Head in researching and staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices relevant to operational continuity and emergency preparedness in the railway industry.
• Propose innovative technical solutions for enhancing the effectiveness of emergency preparedness plans.
• Contribute to the development and review of technical aspects of OCEP standards and protocols.
• Analyze data from emergency exercises and incidents to identify resource allocation gaps or inefficiencies.
• Develop recommendations for optimizing resource utilization based on data insights.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Basic Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Transport, Logistics, Management, or Railway Operations.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated planning experience.
• Good knowledge of the Kingdom's railway industry, including its contractual matrix and regulatory regime.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and impact analysis.
• Effective communication skills for internal team collaboration and feedback.
