About the Planning Engineer Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Planning Engineer to join its site-based construction supervision team in Riyadh, Ad Dir'iyah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position supports a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain Level 1–4 schedules and updates to the Integrated Master Schedule in Primavera P6.
  • Build robust logic, calendars, and coding structures; align interfaces across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Establish and control schedule baselines; perform regular updates, progress measurement, and variance/trend analysis.
  • Conduct critical and near-critical path analysis; run what-if scenarios; recommend recovery/acceleration strategies.
  • Prepare resource-loaded schedules; perform resource analysis and leveling; identify bottlenecks and coordinate resolutions with discipline leads.
  • Support schedule risk assessments; document assumptions, quantify potential impacts, and track mitigations.
  • Prepare and support time impact analyses for approved changes and identified delays; contribute to claims documentation as needed.
  • Produce clear dashboards and reporting for project leadership and clients; facilitate schedule reviews and look-ahead planning.
  • Mentor junior planners and support continuous improvement of tools, templates, and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7–10 years of progressive planning and scheduling experience on multi-disciplinary projects.

Essential Skills and Capabilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Strong command of CPM scheduling, baseline control, progress measurement, and variance/trend analysis.
  • Experience with resource-loaded scheduling and cross-functional coordination.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or PMP.
  • Experience with schedule quality and risk tools (*, Deltek Acumen Fuse/Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis).
  • Familiarity with DCMA 14-Point Assessment and AACE Recommended Practices.
  • Background supporting time impact analyses, delay analysis, and claims in EPC/Design-Build environments.
  • Proficiency in Power BI/Tableau for schedule dashboards; data modeling/SQL familiarity is a plus.
