About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is seeking a Planning & Follow up Lead Specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for an experienced professional capable of operating with general direction, focusing on developing solutions to complex challenges and addressing issues escalated from junior levels. The role involves undertaking complex operational activities and supporting the implementation of cross-organizational initiatives within the Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect necessary data and conduct proper analysis to develop detailed reports highlighting the proposed Governor Office strategy.
  • Communicate approved strategic objectives and priorities of the Governor Office to concerned internal stakeholders and develop departmental annual operating plans accordingly.
  • Consolidate departmental strategic, operational, and budgetary plans in line with the Governor Office’s set strategic priorities, coordinating with the Strategy and Development sector for management approval.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets for the Governor Office, ensuring alignment with ZATCA’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure proper implementation of ZATCA’s approved operational plans and support internal Governor Office departments in identifying and resolving challenges in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the implementation of cross-organizational activities and initiatives, ensuring the Governor Office’s adherence and compliance to organizational mandates and escalating discrepancies when needed.
  • Coordinate with the Strategy and Development sector and act as a focal point for business process updates, ensuring alignment with ZATCA’s guidelines, templates, and strategic objectives.
  • Follow up on the project management activities of the Governor Office and develop status update reports.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in solving escalated problems and provide necessary support for junior team members to ensure work is carried out efficiently.
  • Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly.
  • Train junior staff on different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/junior staff.
  • Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to set policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions for complex challenges.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, objective setting, and KPI development.
  • Excellent coordination and communication abilities for internal stakeholder engagement and cross-organizational initiatives.
  • Capability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior team members.
  • Adherence to organizational policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The role involves working closely with the Governor Office and coordinating with the Strategy and Development sector, requiring collaboration with various internal stakeholders.
