About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Quality Assistant Director to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and guest satisfaction across the property.

Role Overview

The Quality Assistant Director is responsible for implementing and overseeing quality assurance processes that align with the company’s mission and brand standards. This role focuses on meeting target customer needs, verifying guest satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement at the property level. The individual will champion the Quality function and foster support for necessary changes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach managers on adopting the Total Quality Management leadership style.
• Conduct self-audits to verify compliance with company and brand standards.
• Make and execute decisions necessary to achieve property goals.
• Direct property quality efforts to address critical customer requirements and facilitate process improvement teams.
• Lead initiatives to achieve and sustain favorable travel ratings.
• Verify that management practices at all levels are aligned with quality tools by providing training and workshops.
• Utilize data collection methods to compile, display, track, and analyze defect trends.
• Demonstrate and communicate key drivers of guest satisfaction for the brand’s target customer.
• Review guest feedback with the leadership team and verify appropriate corrective action is taken.
• Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
• Model service behaviors that meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Cultivate and strengthen the team in delivering elevated service in line with new brand and job function specific initiatives.
• Drive and verify the successful implementation of new brand-specific initiatives.
• Define and verify Marriott standards and guidelines are met for guestroom renovation projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field.
• Proven ability to implement and manage quality processes within a hospitality environment.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with a focus on Total Quality Management.
• Analytical skills to identify trends, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and staff at all levels.
• Problem-solving capabilities to effectively address guest feedback and operational challenges.
• Proficiency in utilizing data collection methods and quality tools.
