Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for a professional with over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering. The role focuses on ensuring the technical integrity and compliance of mechanical systems within projects.

Job Purpose

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the technical review, supervision, testing, commissioning, and coordination of mechanical systems. This role ensures that all systems comply with approved designs, specifications, quality requirements, and applicable codes throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical IFC drawings, shop drawings, calculations, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Supervise HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other mechanical systems on-site.
• Evaluate equipment selections, technical data sheets, calculations, and manufacturers’ submissions.
• Coordinate mechanical systems effectively with architectural, structural, electrical, infrastructure, and other relevant disciplines.
• Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve mechanical design, interface, and site technical issues.
• Conduct site inspections and review Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).
• Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, project progress, and quality standards.
• Review and witness testing, commissioning, and system performance activities.
• Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify the implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure strict compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and other applicable standards.
• Review as-built drawings, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, warranties, and project close-out documents.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in the technical review, supervision, and coordination of mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards, including SBC, NFPA, and ASHRAE.
