About the Role

alfanar Group is seeking a Sr. Engineer Cost Control to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves overseeing the financial performance of projects through effective cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The successful candidate will monitor project costs, identify potential overruns, and collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions and maintain financial control.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and maintenance of project budgets, covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, analyze cost variances, and report findings to senior management.
Prepare and update cost forecasts, assess financial risks, and recommend appropriate cost control measures.
Manage changes to project scope and budget, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and assessment of their financial impact.
Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to evaluate project cost performance and identify deviations from financial targets.
Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling teams to align project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements with budget constraints.
Prepare periodic cost reports, financial forecasts, and management presentations to support project decision-making.

Role Accountabilities

Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
Solve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in cost control and project financial management. The role requires the ability to continuously update soft and technical skills related to the job, along with a clear vision and plan for career path achievement.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within project teams and collaborating with various departments to ensure financial objectives are met.
