Storage Backup Engineer

About the Role

Yallo Talent is seeking a Storage Backup Engineer for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining Veeam backup and replication solutions, alongside general storage administration. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer backup and storage systems.
• Manage and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Perform regular backup and restore tests to validate data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with Level 3 support and other IT teams to resolve complex backup and recovery issues.
• Implement and document backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• Optimize backup schedules and storage utilization to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Provide training and support to Level 1 technicians to enhance overall team performance.
• Configure backup jobs to meet defined policies and provide data restore within established SLAs.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to backup and recovery processes.
• Monitor storage systems for availability, performance, and capacity utilization.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues between hosts and storage systems.
• Perform switch administration and firmware upgrades.
• Investigate and resolve storage alerts, faults, and hardware failures.
• Manage capacity for storage devices within the environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in storage and backup administration.
• Demonstrated expertise and hands-on knowledge of Veeam Backup Solution.
• Hands-on experience in storage administration of Dell EMC, HPE, and NetApp products.
• Veeam certification is considered an added value.

Work Environment

This is a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Candidates should be open to working in shifts, specifically afternoon and night shifts, as required by operational needs.
