About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Structural Design Engineer - Underground for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves contributing to significant infrastructure projects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project standards, specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Verify design-build documents, drawings, calculations, operating manuals, and technical reports for compliance with client requirements and project standards.
• Assess contractor submittals, including materials, construction methodologies, and subcontractor prequalification documents.
• Support Lead Civil Engineers and Senior Structural Engineers in preparing and consolidating technical reports, investigations, and engineering status reports.
• Assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and adherence to the approved scope of work.
• Provide structural engineering support to multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, MEP, and project controls.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of design and engineering activities.
• Attend and witness inspections, testing, and acceptance activities as required.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) pertaining to structural engineering.
• Offer technical support to construction sites and aid in resolving design-related issues.
• Identify discrepancies, evaluate technical challenges, and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in safety meetings and review installation demonstrations of proposed materials and construction methods.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering design and construction.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of major heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
• A strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and foundation design.
• In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics and structural engineering design practices.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, ******, Revit, CAD, WALLAP, Oasys Slope, TEDDS, SuperSTRESS, FEM, or equivalent platforms.
• Solid technical knowledge of engineering design software and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in rail, metro, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with *, British, and European structural design standards and codes.
• Knowledge of Saudi Building Codes and local regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD and related design software.

Work Context
