The Group Finance & Consulting Department

The Group Finance & Consulting Department (GF&CD) serves as a central finance resource, offering decision and advisory support to Senior Management. Its scope includes statutory and management reporting, financial and investment analysis, budgeting, planning, mergers and acquisitions, governance, tax, and treasury matters affecting Saudi Aramco Affiliates. GF&CD acts as a comprehensive finance hub, providing guidance to Board members on upcoming Affiliate Board and committee meetings, collaborating with Affiliates, and assisting senior management in making informed decisions across diverse financial, governance, and commercial areas.

The Role of Accounting Analyst

Saudi Aramco is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the Group Finance & Consulting Department in Dhahran. This full-time role involves providing expert financial, governance, and commercial advice to Senior Management and Board members. The analyst will prepare briefings for Affiliate Board and committee meetings, coordinate stakeholder input, and ensure alignment with Group governance. Additionally, the position supports financial oversight and strategic decision-making through financial analysis, impairment reviews, and Purchase Price Allocations, while also mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide objective advice to Senior Management on financial, governance, and commercial matters impacting Affiliates.
  • Deliver briefings to senior management for Affiliate Board meetings and ad-hoc projects, ensuring compliance with Group governance.
  • Review board materials for Affiliates, coordinate stakeholder input, and prepare commentary and analysis for board members.
  • Review and coordinate the preparation of impairment analysis for investments by Business Lines.
  • Review Purchase Price Allocations (PPA) for new acquisitions and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support GF&CD's function as a central resource for finance matters across the Group.
  • Coordinate involvement of internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for affiliate matters.
  • Support the preparation of note disclosures for Saudi Aramco’s consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist in the setup of new affiliates to ensure robust processes, policies, and controls aligned with Aramco Group Governance Framework.
  • Brief internal management on affiliates’ operational matters, new projects, and initiatives.
  • Perform financial analysis for due diligence on Affiliates and their projects.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach team members in areas of expertise.
  • Provide ad hoc support as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for delivering briefings to senior management.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting standards and policies.
  • Experience with management accounting focused on decision support.
  • Prior experience working with affiliates in a group environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and derive key insights.
  • Proficiency in delivering and presenting reports to senior management.
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Capability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
