About the Performance & Analytics Senior Specialist Role

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, Eastern Region, is seeking a Performance & Analytics Senior Specialist. This full-time position focuses on leading institutional performance management, analytics, and executive reporting through advanced data analysis and digital dashboards to facilitate evidence-based decision-making and enhance performance transparency. The role requires 5-10 years of experience.

Core Responsibilities

The Performance & Analytics Senior Specialist will be instrumental in driving institutional effectiveness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing institutional Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks.
  • Monitoring service performance across various departments.
  • Supporting strategic and operational reviews to ensure alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Designing and managing executive dashboards, primarily using Power BI.
  • Integrating data from diverse systems including ERP, HR, Finance, and service-specific platforms.
  • Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all data.
  • Producing comprehensive monthly and quarterly performance reports.

Data Governance and Insights

This role also encompasses establishing robust data governance practices and providing critical analytical insights.

  • Establishing data standards and validation processes to maintain data integrity.
  • Monitoring data quality and ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinating effectively with data owners across the institution.
  • Maintaining clear and up-to-date reporting documentation.
  • Analyzing trends, identifying risks, and highlighting performance gaps.
  • Providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Supporting scenario analysis and forecasting activities.

Team Leadership and Development

The Senior Specialist will lead and develop a team focused on analytics and reporting.

  • Supervising analysts and visualization staff.
  • Building and enhancing analytics capabilities within the relevant department (CoCE).
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all performance reports.

Authority and Decision Support

The role carries specific authorities to support its functions.

  • Access to institutional performance data for analysis and reporting.
  • Authority to approve dashboard standards.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to KPIs.
  • Responsibility to escalate data quality issues as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following:

  • Experience ranging from 5 to 10 years in performance management, analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Experience with data integration from various enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience in team supervision and capability building is advantageous.
