About the Role

KUWAIT STEEL is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join their team in Al Qatif. This is a full-time position requiring 0-1 years of experience.

Role Overview

The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing maintenance strategies, defining criticality rankings, and standardizing reliability engineering methodologies. This role involves leading root cause analysis for major failures, validating technical conclusions, and ensuring the elimination of systemic failure patterns. The engineer will also support CAPEX justification, contribute to lifecycle cost analysis, and identify chronic assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize maintenance strategies, including RCM, FMEA, and PM Optimization.
  • Define criticality ranking and implement a risk-based maintenance approach.
  • Standardize reliability engineering methodologies across the organization.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant equipment failures.
  • Validate technical conclusions and corrective actions derived from failure analyses.
  • Ensure the elimination of recurring systemic failure patterns.
  • Support Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) justification based on reliability data.
  • Contribute to Lifecycle Cost (LCC) analysis for assets.
  • Identify and address bad actors and chronic assets impacting reliability.
  • Support the development of long-term asset strategies.
  • Validate the quality of condition monitoring data.
  • Supervise technical reliability assistants.
  • Analyze Weibull trends and other failure statistics.
  • Ensure SAP-PM data integrity for reliability studies.
  • Act as a technical reference for maintenance teams on reliability matters.
  • Mentor high-potential engineers in reliability principles.
  • Challenge technical decisions when they may impact reliability objectives.
  • Align training programs with reliability best practices to enhance team competencies.
  • Validate technical procedures, capital investment justifications, and resource requirements to ensure alignment with reliability objectives.
  • Align technical analyses with budget preparation and resource allocation processes.
  • Validate and prepare reliability reports (weekly, monthly, annual) for management review.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant technical field is considered an advantage.
  • Professional Certifications in Reliability Engineering, RCM, Vibration Analysis, or Condition Monitoring are considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Qatif. The role involves working within the KUWAIT STEEL organization.
