STAFF NURSE I

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Medina is seeking a Staff Nurse I to provide comprehensive nursing care. This full-time position involves utilizing the nursing process to meet established standards of nursing practice and performance, while demonstrating leadership competencies when in charge or acting as a shift resource/team leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care as assigned, adhering to core standards, established policies, and evidence-based practices.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning.
• Contribute to decreasing length of stay and waiting times in line with unit-specific goals.
• Collaborate with Case Management to achieve patient care objectives.
• Document all relevant information accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, or supply inventory reductions to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to continuously improve quality patient care.
• Act as an advocate for patients and their families.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient care quality and address issues that may negatively affect patient care outcomes, utilizing the professional practice framework.
• Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
• Contribute to cost efficiency savings within the unit.
• Maintain awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, and materials.
• Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.
• Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff and nursing students to develop their competence and performance.
• Assist in maintaining a suitable learning environment and act as a preceptor/mentor for nursing students and new staff.
• Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
• Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model.
• Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge through mentorship, aligned with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Follow all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in personal and others' education, training, and development as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Staff Nurse I position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in nursing. The role requires a strong understanding and application of nursing processes and established standards of practice.

Professional Conduct

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership competencies, particularly when assuming charge nurse duties or acting as a shift resource/team leader. A commitment to continuous improvement in patient care quality and adherence to hospital policies is essential.
