We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience to oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices at project sites. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local regulations while promoting a strong safety culture across the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures at the project site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations and client safety standards.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports, risk assessments, and incident investigation records.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor work activities to ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with project management to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations.
• Maintain safety documentation and ensure all permits and certifications are valid and up to date.
• Support emergency response planning and drills.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction or industrial projects.
• Professional certification (*, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and international safety standards.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct safety inspections on equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure worker safety.
• Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those that do not meet safety standards.
• Monitor work crews and report any lapses in safety precautions.
• Examine the conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending safety measures accordingly.
• Investigate accidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.
• Educate workers on the proper use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures throughout the work process.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a High School diploma.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a diploma.
• Strong technical knowledge related to safety in maintenance jobs.
• Excellent organization skills and proactive communication abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in large organizations.
• Ability to make sound judgments under pressure and resolve issues effectively.
• Strategic management skills are a plus.
