Accountant

About the Role

Hussain Alotaibi CPA Firm is seeking a full-time Accountant for a client, a waqf (endowment) based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing the waqf's financial accounts under the direct supervision of its trustees (Nazirs).

Role Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for the comprehensive financial management of the waqf, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This on-site position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in accounting, capable of handling daily financial operations and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger entries.
• Perform reconciliation of bank statements and various accounts.
• Prepare periodic financial statements and reports for the trustees.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Assist with budgeting and cash flow reporting.
• Support zakat, tax, and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and the waqf's internal policies.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage financial accounts and prepare reports.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
