About the Role

Unilever is seeking an Arabia GTM SHE Manager to lead the Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Security agenda across its Go-To-Market (GTM) and non-manufacturing operations in the Arabia region. This full-time role, based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is critical for ensuring the protection of employees, contractors, visitors, logistics partners, and communities, supporting Unilever's ambition of achieving Zero Harm. The successful candidate will report to the PTAB GTM SHE Manager and act as the regional custodian for SHE governance, office security, road safety, and third-party logistics compliance, requiring over 10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves strong leadership to influence internal and external stakeholders, embedding safety, health, environmental, and security considerations into business decisions and daily operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the SHE and office security agenda across GCC non-manufacturing operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with local legislation, Unilever standards, legal registers, and internal governance requirements.
  • Maintaining risk assessments, emergency preparedness programs, and assurance activities.
  • Managing office SHE and security controls, including fire safety, emergency response, evacuation drills, first aid arrangements, contractor management, visitor management, and access control.
  • Conducting security risk assessments and ensuring effective implementation of corrective actions.

Road Safety and Logistics Compliance

This position drives critical safety initiatives across the supply chain and operational footprint:

  • Driving the road safety agenda for sales teams, company vehicles, shuttle services, and third-party transporters.
  • Implementing journey management, defensive driving, telematics monitoring, dashcam compliance, fatigue management, and speed management programs.
  • Ensuring warehousing and transportation service providers comply with Unilever Minimum Mandatory Requirements.
  • Conducting audits, gap assessments, site inspections, and compliance reviews for third-party logistics.
  • Monitoring corrective action implementation and escalating critical gaps as required.

Incident Management and Performance

The manager is responsible for robust incident management and continuous improvement:

  • Leading investigations for incidents involving offices, road transport, logistics operations, and contractors.
  • Facilitating root cause analysis, learning deployment, and verification of corrective action effectiveness.
  • Developing compliance roadmaps and assurance plans across the region.
  • Designing and deploying SHE and security training programs for all relevant audiences.
  • Tracking and reporting SHE, security, road safety, and logistics performance indicators.
  • Monitoring incident trends, audit performance, corrective action closure, telematics data, and training completion to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Security Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Over 10 years of proven experience managing SHE programs across multiple sites and countries.
  • Strong knowledge of office safety, contractor management, emergency response, road safety, logistics safety, and security management.
  • Experience managing warehouse and transportation safety compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

Additional experience that would be beneficial includes:

  • Experience in a multinational FMCG, logistics, supply chain, transportation, retail, industrial, or distribution environment.
  • Experience managing SHE programs in non-manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers and contractors.
  • Strong auditing, assurance, and compliance management experience.
  • Exposure to GCC regulatory environments and regional operations.
