About the Role

WSP is seeking an experienced Contracts Engineer to join its Site Supervision team in Jeddah. This full-time role supports major transport, road, and infrastructure utilities projects, focusing on contract administration and commercial compliance throughout project delivery. The position is site-based and requires strong consultant-side experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contracts in accordance with project requirements and applicable conditions.
  • Review, evaluate, and process variations, change orders, claims, and extension of time submissions.
  • Support the Resident Engineer and Project Director on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, recommendations, and reports.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations and project deliverables.
  • Review payment applications and provide contractual input on assessments and recommendations.
  • Maintain records of contractual communications, instructions, and project changes.
  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes and support claim evaluations.
  • Identify commercial and contractual risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with project controls, quantity surveying, and supervision teams to ensure consistency in commercial management.
  • Provide contract administration support throughout construction and project closeout phases.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and contractors regarding contractual matters.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in contract administration and commercial management.
  • Strong experience on transport, roads, highways, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working for engineering consultants or supervision consultants on major infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience within Saudi Arabia, preferably on projects in Jeddah, Riyadh, or other major KSA locations.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other internationally recognized contract forms.
  • Experience managing variations, claims, change management, and extension of time assessments.
  • Professional certifications and membership of relevant professional institutions are an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Excellent report writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively within multidisciplinary site supervision teams.

Exclusions

Candidates with predominantly building construction, contractor-only backgrounds, design consultancy design roles, or corporate/head office contract administration experience will not be considered suitable for this position.
