About the Director of Finance Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to join its team in Makkah, serving the Jeddah and Makkah regions. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and functions as the property's strategic financial business leader. The role champions and implements property-wide strategies to meet or exceed brand customer and employee expectations, providing financial expertise to maximize return on investment and execute business plans aligned with property and brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploration of new business opportunities.
  • Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze variances.
  • Identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities through analytical support during budget reviews.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage business risks and safeguard assets.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
  • Produce accurate forecasts to enable operational adjustments.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses, and timely submission of reports.
  • Monitor purchasing processes and ensure compliance with management contracts and operating procedures.
  • Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand procedures and owner requirements.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

This role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence teams and stakeholders. The Director of Finance will communicate strategic goals clearly, provide guidance to the executive team, and manage performance appraisals for direct reports. Engagement with owners, understanding their priorities, and advising the General Manager and executive committee on financial matters are critical. Financial concepts must be communicated effectively to drive desired behaviors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.

Human Resources and Team Development

The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring team members are cross-trained, property policies are administered fairly, and new hires receive appropriate orientation and training. Creating development plans based on individual strengths and career aspirations, conducting performance reviews, and participating in hiring activities are also key functions.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to the Jeddah and Makkah areas. The role operates within The Luxury Collection brand standards.
