About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Finance Director (Dir Finance A) to join their team in Makkah, specifically serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and plays a crucial role in the property’s financial strategy and operations.

Strategic Financial Leadership

As the property’s strategic financial business leader, this role champions and implements property-wide strategies to meet or exceed brand and customer expectations. The position provides essential financial expertise to support the successful execution of brand initiatives, aiming to maximize return on investment. A key responsibility is creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand’s strategic direction, focusing on financial activities and achieving desired financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze variances.
  • Identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities for property managers through analytical support during budget reviews.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department sales and producing accurate forecasts.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Manage communication with owners, understanding their priorities and strategic focus, and advising the General Manager and executive committee on financial issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of Profits and Losses, monitor applicable taxes, and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely reports and presentations.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the accuracy of the Profit and Loss statement.
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement appropriate development plans for team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews for employees and participate in hiring activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

Leadership and Team Management

This role requires strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to influence and lead others. The Finance Director will advocate for sound financial and business decision-making, lead by example with honesty and integrity, and clearly communicate strategic goals to subordinates. Effective leadership extends to influencing the executive team and property strategies, overseeing audit processes, and assigning clear accountability with appropriate authority to team members and other department managers.

Stakeholder Engagement and Financial Management

The position involves understanding and meeting the needs of key stakeholders, including owners, corporate, and guests. This includes advising the General Manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues, and communicating financial concepts clearly and persuasively. Effective management of property working capital and cash flow, in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements, is essential. Facilitating critique meetings to review information with the management team is also a key aspect of the role.
