About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Quantity Surveyor - Cost Engineer to join our team in Jeddah. As a global leader in infrastructure consulting, AECOM partners with clients to address complex challenges and build lasting legacies. Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor - Cost Engineer will be responsible for a range of surveying and cost engineering tasks. This role involves conducting detailed surveys to identify natural features and man-made structures, utilizing advanced surveying instruments and electronic distance-measuring equipment. The professional will manage and operate land-information computer systems for data storage, inquiry, and report generation. A key aspect of the role includes reviewing survey data, verifying measurements of distances, directions, angles, and elevations, and analyzing this information to ensure accuracy.

  • Conduct surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures.
  • Operate and manage land-information computer systems.

  • Research legal records and analyze data to determine boundary lines.
  • Record survey results, verify data accuracy, and prepare plots, maps, and reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree, with a specialization in MEP or Civil Engineering, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, cost engineering, or related construction disciplines is required. Proficiency in land-information systems and computer-aided surveying software is essential, alongside demonstrated expertise in survey data analysis, verification, and technical report preparation. Comprehensive knowledge of boundary research, legal records analysis, and property demarcation procedures is also necessary.

Required Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex surveying projects of diverse scope and scale. Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in Arabic or Asian languages being a requirement. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with meticulous attention to accuracy and detail, are critical for success in this role.
