Senior Architect / Design Manager

About the Role

Buruoj Engineering Consultant is seeking a Senior Architect / Design Manager to join their team in Makkah, with work locations including Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role requires a creative and technically skilled leader responsible for producing and managing high-quality architectural designs. The position involves strong design capability for concept creation, technical development, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Senior Architect / Design Manager will lead architectural design efforts, ensuring alignment with client visions and project requirements. This role demands deep knowledge of BIM tools and workflows to facilitate efficient design processes and coordination across various disciplines. The manager will oversee design creativity and technical accuracy from initial concepts through all stages of project development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop concept and schematic designs that align with client vision and project requirements.
• Prepare design narratives, concept boards, and façade studies.
• Present and defend design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain design creativity and technical accuracy throughout all stages of design.
• Manage the architecture team across all project stages.
• Coordinate with Structure, MEP, and Interior teams to ensure full integration of designs.
• Review and approve architectural drawings for compliance with SBC and MOMRAH standards.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure all deliverables meet company quality standards.
• Lead architectural BIM workflows and coordinate with the BIM Manager.
• Oversee Revit model development and ensure accuracy to the required LOD per project stage.
• Maintain architectural libraries and digital standards in Autodesk Collaborate Pro.
• Apply BIM knowledge to streamline coordination and design communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and management.
• Demonstrated strong design capability for concept creation and technical development.
• Extensive knowledge of BIM tools and workflows.
• Experience in interdisciplinary coordination for complex projects.

Required Skills

• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in architectural design software and BIM platforms, including Revit and Autodesk Collaborate Pro.
• Strong understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and MOMRAH standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities covering projects in both Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working within a collaborative engineering consultancy environment, coordinating with various specialized teams.
