Senior Engineer Structural

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer - Structural with over 10 years of experience, specifically 12+ years on large-scale urban master plan projects involving high-rise construction. This full-time position in Jeddah requires providing strategic structural oversight and leadership on complex, multi-phase urban development initiatives. The role focuses on ensuring the structural integrity and compliance of sophisticated construction projects, adhering to approved designs, specifications, and local regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive structural inspection and verification programs across large-scale urban master plan developments.
• Monitor complex structural elements including foundations, deep foundation works, bridges, underpasses, culverts, and retaining walls for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and design criteria.
• Verify proper placement of reinforcement, formwork installation, post-tensioning operations, grouting procedures, and concrete sequencing on high-rise and multi-building developments.
• Review and evaluate temporary works designs for falsework, scaffolding, and shoring systems, confirming adequate strength, stability, and safety compliance.
• Oversee installation and alignment of expansion joints, bearings, drainage systems, and safety barriers across integrated urban development sites.
• Analyze applicable Saudi Building Codes and local authority standards, coordinating with designers, architects, and relevant authorities to resolve design discrepancies.
• Supervise and mentor inspection teams, conducting regular progress meetings and auditing inspections for conformity to contract documents.
• Maintain comprehensive project records including daily and weekly progress reports, material accounting, change orders, and record drawings.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for violations or deviations, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective action.
• Participate in progress review and coordination meetings, providing expert structural knowledge to resolve site challenges.
• Ensure all structural works comply with Health and Safety regulations and participate in snagging activities and project handover processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Specifically, 12+ years of experience on large-scale urban master plan projects with high-rise construction.
• Demonstrated track record in structural oversight and leadership on complex, multi-phase urban development initiatives.
• Proficiency in ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and local regulatory standards.
