About the Role

Halian | Managed Services, Recruitment Agency & Contract Staffing is seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide on-site technical support and maintenance for advanced naval sonar systems. This contract position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with occasional travel or deployment requirements based on operational needs.

Role Purpose and Context

The Field Service Representative will ensure the operational readiness, reliability, and performance of towed sonar equipment within a maritime defence environment. This involves executing preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting technical diagnostics, providing engineering support, and engaging with stakeholders to maintain system functionality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis of complex sonar system issues using diagnostic software, test equipment, and maintenance documentation.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and operational readiness, ensuring compliance with approved schedules and technical procedures.
• Perform corrective maintenance, including component replacement, repair, testing, and recommissioning of sonar equipment, while adhering to technical and safety standards.
• Assist with the development and execution of annual engineering support plans, technical investigations, reliability assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system defects, repairs, and technical interventions, producing regular reports for management and customer stakeholders.
• Support the management and control of maintenance inventory and spare parts, tracking consumption, maintaining records, and identifying critical spare requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Act as a key technical interface between operational personnel, engineering teams, and maintenance management, building effective relationships in a multicultural environment.

Technical Expertise and Support

The role requires providing technical recommendations for system performance improvements and escalating complex technical issues when specialist engineering support is necessary. Collaboration with engineering teams to address recurring system performance issues is also a key aspect of this position.

Compliance and Documentation

Maintaining current documentation aligned with quality management requirements is essential. The FSR will also support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as required, ensuring adherence to all site-specific health, safety, and environmental regulations.
