About the Role

Unilever is seeking a SHE Engineer to join our team at the Jeddah Factory. This full-time role is dedicated to supporting Unilever’s Zero Harm ambition by implementing Unilever Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Standards, ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture across all operational shifts and lines. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of professional experience.

Key Responsibilities

The SHE Engineer will be responsible for a range of duties focused on safety, health, and environmental compliance and continuous improvement within the factory. These responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and sustaining Unilever SHE Standards and local legal requirements within the factory, covering aspects such as risk assessments, permits-to-work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine safety, and contractor management.
  • Leading or supporting SHE risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, and ergonomic assessments, and ensuring the timely closure of all identified actions.
  • Coordinating incident and near-miss reporting, investigation, and learning processes, as well as tracking corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitoring SHE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as injuries, near misses, audits, and inspections, and driving continuous improvement plans based on these metrics.
  • Delivering SHE inductions, training sessions, coaching, and toolbox talks for both employees and contractors.
  • Supporting projects and capital expenditure (capex) initiatives, including new lines and layout changes, to ensure that "SHE by design" principles are integrated from the initial stages.
  • Participating in internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance with both Unilever and regulatory requirements.
  • Partnering with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and HR departments to effectively embed SHE practices into daily operations at the Jeddah Factory.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should meet the following criteria:

  • 0-1 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) or Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) roles within a manufacturing or factory environment is preferred.
