About the Role

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking an Assistant Manager, Logistics Operations to join our team in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah. This full-time position supports the logistics department in managing end-to-end in-plant logistics activities, ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support production targets.

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – Logistics Operations plays a crucial role in overseeing daily logistics operations, including truck park areas, docks, internal and external warehouses, marketplaces, and manufacturing lineside locations. This role is instrumental in assisting with warehouse and packaging operations, dock management, and ensuring the seamless delivery of parts to production lines to prevent any disruption to production targets. The position contributes to driving cost and time-effective lean storage and movement of goods, while upholding high standards of safety, service, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the leadership in managing daily logistics operations across transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing logistics strategies to optimize service levels and reduce costs.
  • Oversee logistics planning for inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics to ensure timely material flow.
  • Support the management of 3PL relationships, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, planning, and customer service to align logistics activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transportation cost per unit, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, safety, and environmental standards related to logistics operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools and analytics to enhance logistics visibility.
  • Assist in leading and developing the logistics team, including supervisors.
  • Support new product launches and supply chain transformation projects.
  • Ensure that staff maintain accurate material schedules to ensure timely material availability.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Assist in managing and holding responsibility for Material Planning budgets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • At least 2-3 years in automotive logistics operations or a supervisory/team lead role.
  • Experience supporting large teams and complex distribution networks.

Required Skills

  • A deep understanding of logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with digital transformation in logistics is advantageous.
  • Strong team-building and communication skills.
