About the Role

Avensys Consulting is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) for a contract position in Makkah, with work locations including Jeddah and Makkah. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the availability, performance, and security of enterprise database environments. This role focuses on database administration, monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability and data integrity across production and non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database systems.
• Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, and overall health.
• Perform database backup, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Ensure database security, access controls, user management, and compliance with organizational policies.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve database-related incidents, performance issues, and operational problems.
• Manage database upgrades, patches, migrations, and version upgrades.
• Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Monitor database storage, capacity, and resource utilization and plan for future growth.
• Develop and maintain database maintenance procedures, standards, and operational documentation.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, network, security, and development teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support database deployment and changes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Perform regular health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure databases meet required availability, performance, security, and recovery objectives.
• Maintain accurate documentation of database architecture, configurations, procedures, and recovery processes.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours support when required.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with enterprise database technologies and be comfortable working in a high-availability, business-critical environment.

• 5-10 years of experience in database administration.
