About the Role

Janikin Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Installation Engineer to support a major Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCGT) project in Rabigh, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time contract role involves the mechanical installation, erection, completion, commissioning, and start-up phases of heavy-duty gas turbines within a large-scale power generation project.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute the mechanical installation of heavy-duty gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.
• Support turbine erection, mechanical assembly, and installation activities.
• Carry out rotor, casing, and bearing installation in accordance with OEM procedures.
• Perform shaft and laser alignment activities.
• Support piping installation, mechanical completion, and system turnover.
• Assist with pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities, including First Fire and Reliability Run.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and project quality standards.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and OEM teams to facilitate project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports and installation documentation as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience of 5-10 years on major Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCGT) projects.
• Hands-on experience with heavy-duty gas turbine installation.
• Demonstrated experience across mechanical installation, turbine erection, rotor installation, casing installation, bearing installation, shaft/laser alignment, mechanical completion, commissioning, start-up, First Fire, and Reliability Run.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or major EPC contractors is desirable.
• Experience with one or more of the following turbine models is advantageous: Siemens SGT5-8000H, Siemens SGT6-9000HL, Siemens SGT5-4000F, or other Siemens heavy-duty gas turbines.

Contract Details and Provisions

This is a contract position with an initial duration of 12+ months. A competitive hourly rate will be provided. The contract includes accommodation, transport, flights, and a daily allowance.

Project Context

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a significant power generation project in Saudi Arabia, located in the Rabigh and Makkah regions. The project focuses on the successful mobilization and installation of critical infrastructure for a major CCGT facility.
