About the Merchandiser Role at PepsiCo

PepsiCo is seeking a Merchandiser to join its sales team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in sales and account building. PepsiCo products are consumed globally over a billion times daily, with a diverse portfolio including LAY’S, DORITOS, CHEETOS, GATORADE, PEPSI, and QUAKER. The company is driven by its vision to be a global leader in beverages and convenient foods through its sustainability-focused strategy, pep+.

Role Purpose and Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to maximize sales volume, minimize product stales, achieve distribution targets, implement merchandising standards, manage accounts receivable, and maintain high levels of customer service. Adherence to operating procedures is essential to ensure consistent standards across Saudi Arabia. The Merchandiser will also gather market information to identify sales opportunities and attend training to enhance professionalism and customer service. Daily debriefing with a supervisor is required.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

  • Sell the full range of products to an assigned customer list, measured against agreed targets.
  • Ensure customer service meets company standards, maintaining agreed call frequencies and daily route plans.
  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per operating procedures, ensuring the sales vehicle is clean and roadworthy, reporting any defects promptly.
  • Supply ready-to-ship customer orders on time, including delivery arrangements.
  • Maintain individual customer stock levels to agreed requirements to minimize out-of-stock situations.
  • Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards communicated by the supervisor.
  • Report relevant competitor activity in the service area to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of all cheques, cash, and credit sales.
  • Maintain a neat and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Adhere to high driving standards and obey all driving regulations.

Performance Measurement

Performance will be measured against specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Consistent failure to meet required results may lead to disciplinary action.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Sales & Account building.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Conflict management abilities.
  • Sales planning capabilities.
  • Basic accounting skills.

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
