About the Psychology Quality Assurance Lead Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking a Psychology Quality Assurance Lead for a remote, hourly contract position. This role is crucial for overseeing the quality, consistency, and trainer performance across psychology-focused AI training projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing leading AI models by ensuring that psychology training data is accurate, ethical, research-informed, and aligned with client expectations.

Role Overview and Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards in psychology-related AI training data. This involves detailed review of AI-generated content and the work of trainers and quality assurance personnel. The goal is to ensure all training data adheres to strict guidelines for psychological accuracy, ethical considerations, and client requirements. While there is no immediate project assignment, qualified candidates will be prioritized for future opportunities within our expert network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review AI-generated psychology content and trainer/QA work against project guidelines.
  • Provide precise written feedback to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Assess work for psychological accuracy, theory application, research literacy, ethical awareness, mental-health safety, diagnostic caution, clarity, formatting, and instruction-following.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and communicate updates to trainers and QAs.
  • Support the onboarding process for new contributors.
  • Maintain project documentation, including style guides and quality notes.
  • Assist in activating contributors who are not working consistently.
  • Respond to trainer/QA questions regarding psychological concepts, evidence quality, ethical boundaries, and rubric interpretation.
  • Flag unsafe, overconfident, stigmatizing, pseudoscientific, diagnostically inappropriate, or crisis-insensitive psychology content.
  • Propose workflow improvements and help build scalable QA processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, PsyD, or equivalent professional background in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Science, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Social Work, Psychiatry-adjacent research, Education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in psychology research, clinical/counseling settings, behavioral science, teaching, academic writing, mental-health content review, or psychological assessment.
  • Strong understanding of psychological theories, research methods, ethics, evidence-based practice, and mental-health safety.
  • Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and identify specific issues like overdiagnosis or unsupported claims.
  • Proficiency in English for clear communication and written feedback.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with areas such as CBT, developmental psychology, trauma-informed communication, and ethical guidelines.
  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of researchers, clinicians, or QAs.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments using tools like Discord, Google Sheets, and project management systems.
  • Experience with AI training, data annotation, or LLM evaluation.
