About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer (Electrical) to join a supervision consultancy team. This full-time position is based in the Makkah Region, specifically serving projects in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves overseeing all electrical and related utility works on major infrastructure development projects located approximately 100 km north of Jeddah.

Project Context and Responsibilities

The Resident Engineer will lead and manage the electrical supervision activities on site as part of the consultant team. Key responsibilities include ensuring the installation and construction of power distribution networks (MV & LV), street lighting systems, and associated infrastructure comply with project specifications, quality standards, and approved designs. The role also encompasses supervising works related to telecom infrastructure, including ducts, chambers, and related systems.

• Coordinate electrical works with other infrastructure utilities such as road networks, water, sewage, stormwater, gas distribution, irrigation, and landscaping.
• Ensure all electrical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Resolve technical issues on site and coordinate with design teams when required.
• Prepare and review site inspection reports, progress reports, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. The role requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience, with a proven track record in infrastructure supervision projects undertaken with engineering consultancy firms.

• Strong experience in MV/LV power distribution, street lighting, and telecom infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating electrical works within multi-utility infrastructure projects.
