About the Senior Procurement Engineer Role

Elsewedy Electric Power Systems Projects is seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to managing procurement processes for various projects, requiring 2-5 years of experience in the field.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Senior Procurement Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment for projects. This involves managing the end-to-end procurement cycle, from requisition analysis to supplier coordination and payment follow-up, directly supporting project success within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate all purchasing requisitions to ensure clarity and completeness in the description of materials and equipment.
• Prepare and issue requests for quotations to qualified vendors as per the approved vendor list.
• Interview prospective suppliers, either face-to-face or over the phone, to determine scope, prices, discounts, and terms, ensuring that target prices and company terms and conditions are met.
• Review received technical and commercial offers, prepare comparative analyses, and coordinate with technical departments to ensure all clarifications are addressed.
• Prepare the approval form and obtain the required signatures for procurement actions.
• Prepare purchase orders in compliance with received purchase requisitions and in accordance with selected suppliers, agreed prices, and technical approvals.
• Coordinate with project management, finance, and cost control teams to ensure the efficiency of the procurement process.
• Communicate and coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Logistic, and Construction teams regarding product directions, availability, lead times, and cost roadmaps for key materials.
• Follow up on the receipt of bank guarantees and prepare payments according to agreed conditions.
• Attend project review meetings as arranged by Project Management.
• Follow and support processes for returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.

Qualifications and Experience

• A solid understanding of construction industry processes.
• Proven experience in procurement or contracts within the construction sector.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar procurement role.

This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic, project-driven environment, requiring close collaboration with various internal departments and external suppliers.
