About the Role

Confidential Government is seeking a Transportation Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all transportation operations. This full-time position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in transportation and logistics management.

Core Responsibilities

The Transportation Logistics Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, management, and optimization of the company's owned and leased fleet. This includes ensuring efficient container movement between ports, customer locations, yards, and depots, while upholding high standards of safety, cost control, regulatory compliance, and customer service. The manager will lead drivers, dispatchers, and transport coordinators to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency.

Key Operational Duties

• Overseeing daily transportation activities and coordinating container movements.
• Ensuring timely collection and delivery of import and export containers.
• Monitoring fleet productivity, optimizing truck utilization, and minimizing empty movements.
• Managing transportation schedules and dispatch operations.
• Coordinating container status, detention, demurrage, and free-time utilization.
• Ensuring efficient container loading, unloading, and yard operations.

Fleet and Driver Management

• Managing both company-owned and leased trucks and trailers, ensuring availability and optimal utilization.
• Coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, and vehicle inspections, registrations, permits, and insurance.
• Leading, supervising, and developing transportation drivers, including planning schedules and conducting performance evaluations.
• Monitoring driver productivity, attendance, and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Cost Control and Compliance

• Controlling transportation costs, monitoring fuel consumption, and managing leasing costs.
• Analyzing transportation KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and preparing budgets and forecasts.
• Ensuring compliance with all transportation laws, regulations, and HSE policies.
• Promoting safe driving practices and maintaining transportation records for audit readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in transportation or logistics operations is required, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial position. Strong experience in managing container transportation, owned and leased fleets, and knowledge of port, terminal, depot, and container yard operations are essential. Proficiency in fleet management systems, TMS, GPS tracking, route optimization, and Microsoft Excel is expected.
