About Marafiq and the Role

Marafiq is seeking an experienced Engineer Electrical Protection to join its team in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for providing specialized technical support to internal Operations & Maintenance (O&M) customers, ensuring the effective protection of plant and network assets.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver expert technical support related to electrical protection systems for O&M customers within Yanbu. This involves ensuring that all plant and network protection measures are robust, compliant, and effectively safeguard critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for electrical protection systems and equipment, including technical studies and modification scope work, ensuring compliance with applicable specifications and international standards.
Conduct Asset Remaining Life Assessment (ARLA) studies, including scheduling.
Prepare preliminary scopes of work for CAPEX/OPEX projects and conduct MIRA/CMIR as required.
Recommend and implement improvements to departmental procedures and controls within Electrical Protection Engineering to ensure compliance and deliver cost-effective services.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within Electrical Protection Engineering activities.
Support and participate in Reliability studies (RCM, RBI, RCA, IPF) and promote a reliability culture.
Update technical specifications as requested.
Participate in and support the PES gating system, focusing on technology assessment.
Ensure adherence and compliance to departmental guidelines.
Review and provide feedback on internal customer technical submittals and engineering design packages.
Participate in the recruitment, training, development, and motivation of staff within the Electrical Protection section.
Review procedures, SOPs, and work instructions from other departments, ensuring TSD scope compliance.
Participate in Electrical HAZOP studies when applicable.
Engage in technical discussions with internal and external customers (*, SEEC, SERA, NGSA, GSCS) as required.
Explore and study initiatives related to energy saving, renewables, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Support internal lab-related analysis.
Perform assigned electrical technical tasks resulting from RCA outcomes, ensuring compliance for closure.
