About Marafiq and the Role

Marafiq is seeking an experienced Engineer Electrical Protection to join its team in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for providing specialized technical support to internal Operations & Maintenance (O&M) customers, ensuring the effective protection of plant and network assets.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver expert technical support related to electrical protection systems for O&M customers within Yanbu. This involves ensuring that all plant and network protection measures are robust, compliant, and effectively safeguard critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for electrical protection systems and equipment, including technical studies and modification scope work, ensuring compliance with applicable specifications and international standards.
• Conduct Asset Remaining Life Assessment (ARLA) studies, including scheduling.
• Prepare preliminary scopes of work for CAPEX/OPEX projects and conduct MIRA/CMIR as required.
• Recommend and implement improvements to departmental procedures and controls within Electrical Protection Engineering to ensure compliance and deliver cost-effective services.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within Electrical Protection Engineering activities.
• Support and participate in Reliability studies (RCM, RBI, RCA, IPF) and promote a reliability culture.
• Update technical specifications as requested.
• Participate in and support the PES gating system, focusing on technology assessment.
• Ensure adherence and compliance to departmental guidelines.
• Review and provide feedback on internal customer technical submittals and engineering design packages.
• Participate in the recruitment, training, development, and motivation of staff within the Electrical Protection section.
• Review procedures, SOPs, and work instructions from other departments, ensuring TSD scope compliance.
• Participate in Electrical HAZOP studies when applicable.
• Engage in technical discussions with internal and external customers (*, SEEC, SERA, NGSA, GSCS) as required.
• Explore and study initiatives related to energy saving, renewables, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Support internal lab-related analysis.
• Perform assigned electrical technical tasks resulting from RCA outcomes, ensuring compliance for closure.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Electrical Protection Engineering or a closely related field.

Work Setting

This is a full-time role based in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, supporting Marafiq's operations.
