About the Role

Almoosa Health Group is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing direct patient care, administrative support, and assisting physicians with various procedures. The role is crucial in ensuring a high standard of service and maintaining patient dignity for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen, interview, and register patients.
  • Take and record vital signs, and screen for fall and pain risks.
  • Perform patient and family education.
  • Assist physicians with routine medical procedures, as appropriate to training and competency.
  • Ensure patient privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of unit facilities and equipment, arranging for maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for patients as instructed by the clinic physician.
  • Assist and transport patients for admission.
  • Check functionality and availability of instruments and equipment in each clinic, reporting any defective items to the Charge/Dental supervisor.
  • Order and maintain inventories of supplies required to support day-to-day unit clinical and administrative operations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and understand the proper chain of command at all times.
  • Participate in Dental Assistants activities and continuous education programs if advised.
  • Comply with infection control standards.
  • Assist with interpreting for non-Arabic speaking physicians when necessary, if fluent in Arabic.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of knowledge, skills, and duties.
  • Prepare monthly census as requested.
  • Participate in accreditation activities and attend unit meetings.
  • Provide personalized coordinated care, support, and treatment for patients and families.
  • Treat people with dignity, compassion, and respect.
  • Involve patients in decisions and help them take actions to support themselves.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate of a nursing program.
  • Completion of in-house training and demonstrated competency.
  • One year of clinical experience is required.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work independently within a hospital environment.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; Arabic proficiency is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using computers and related software applications.
  • Strong motivational and team working skills.
  • BCLS licensed.
  • Knowledge of patient registration and documentation processes.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic patient assessment and referrals.
