About the Role

ENGIE Middle East is seeking a Senior Shift Engineer for a full-time position in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by leading the entire operations shift team. The Senior Shift Engineer will be responsible for making accurate and timely decisions regarding plant processes and performance, consulting with the Operations Manager as needed. The position requires a detailed understanding and practical experience with technologies used in modern process plants for power generation and desalinated water production.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the safe, reliable, and efficient operations of the plant.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety Management and Environment Management Systems, where applicable, and support IMS Compliance and Certification.
• Implement and ensure adherence to all operations-related policies and procedures.
• Coordinate effectively between the operations and maintenance teams.
• Ensure operations shifts are adequately staffed and required resources are available for the team to operate the plant safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams regarding routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance requirements.
• Monitor the quality and actions taken on defects and work orders.
• Provide support to the maintenance team in organizing and executing crucial maintenance works, including analyzing and finding solutions for recurring problems.
• Set objectives for self and subordinates in line with departmental targets, perform periodical reviews, and provide guidance and mentoring for individual development.
• Ensure periodic reviews and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions to maintain controlled and consistent work execution.
• Prepare the team's operational budget and track its expenditure.
• Provide operational inputs for the preparation of budgets for plant chemicals and Sea Water Requirements.

Accountabilities

The Senior Shift Engineer is accountable for ensuring the smooth running of Shift Operations with compliance in the following areas:

• HSE (Audit & Procedural Compliance)
• IMS (Audit & Procedural Compliance)
• Plant Operations Targets
• Quality of Reports and Reporting System (all operations-related reports)

Required Skills and Experience

• 5-10 years of practical experience in operating modern process plants associated with power generation and desalinated water production.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under own initiative with a high level of drive, energy, and motivation.
• Detailed understanding of relevant technologies.

Business Unit and Legal Entity

This position is part of the GBU Renewables & Flexible Power Business Unit and the GEN International - KSA Division. The legal entity for this role is JUBAIL O&M COMPANY LIMITED.
